NIKE, Inc. President & CEO Mark Parker unveiled the new NIKE+ technology at an event in New York attended by U.S. sprinter Allyson Felix, Super Bowl Champion Victor Cruz, and boxing world champion Manny Pacquiao.

Nike+ Basketball measures how high, how hard and how quick players play the game via the 'Track My Game' mode. The NIKE+ enabled basketball shoes track information on every movement during the game and deliver back information to the user, giving them a basis from which to improve. Messages from Nike Basketball players and coaches provide motivation when goals are reached. The experience also offers 'Showcase' mode, a feature that allows players to record a dunk and superimpose their live data on the video, which can then be shared with their friends via social media.

The programs consist of a series of short, sharp workouts, designed to help users get fitter, faster and stronger. Each workout is demonstrated on-screen to provide detailed guidance and motivation. During each drill or challenge data and feedback on the workout is delivered to the user’s phone via the Nike+ Training mobile app. Daily programs can be created based on how hard the user wants to train, and the app provides a digital community to share each day's workouts and challenges with.

In the summer 1992 fifteen men left the United States and headed east in search of gold. Their destination was Barcelona. Their calling was Basketball. Their's was a unique journey. The squad was the first USAB team to feature active professional basketball players and naturally were considered huge favorites to finish that summer with gold around their necks. They were referred to, and forever will be, as The Dream Team. Widely considered one of the strongest teams assembled in any sport they won every game they played by an average of 44 points.

To commemorate 20 years since their victory Nike Sportswear has created a line of apparel paying homage to the team. The standout piece is without doubt The Dream Team Destroyer Jacket. A premium execution of a silhouette that has become one of Nike Sportswear's best pieces tells some of the great stories of The Dream Team's summer. The traditional Destroyer's wool body and leather sleeves is present, but the detailing is where this piece comes into it's own.

Led by Nike Sportswear Graphic Design Director, Russell Stott and his team the left-side sleeve features three chenille patches. Each with a different story. "The uppermost patch shows detail outlining the average point differentiation by which the team won their games (43.8) as well as a XXV reference to Barcelona as the 25th 'games' in sporting history. The middle patch talks to some of the locations that this years team will visit before the summer and the lower patch utilizes the USAB logo.

On the left-breast of the jacket there is a USA flag embroidered with inspiration from military and space travel as well as each game score stitched in. U S A is embroidered in a toweling-effect on the right-hand side of the body with a USAB pin-badge included. The numbers of the team's 'starting five' - 15, 9, 7, 14 and 6 - are also embroidered on the right-sleeve. We've also included a large embroidered XX to represent the 20th year since the games and "Land of the Free, Home of The Brave' in italicized fonts above the front pockets on either side.

NIKE has engineered knit for performance to create running footwear that features only the essentials. Employing a new technology called Nike Flyknit, yarns and fabric variations are precisely engineered only where they are needed for a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper.

With all the structure and support knitted in, the Nike Flyknit Racer’s upper and tongue weigh just 34 grams (1.2 ounces). Nike Partners With Leading Clubs In Brazil

Nike Football already enjoys a strong presence in Brasil thanks to its partnerships with the Brasil National Team and Corinthians. With the addition of four new teams to its roster – Bahia, Coritiba, Internacional and Santos – Nike has strengthened its position as the leading sports brand in Brasilian football.

Bahia, the leading team in northeast Brasil, will wear a white jersey with a round collar edged in blue with red detail. Across the front are two blue and red horizontal stripes. The shorts are dark blue with a white stripe along the side and stylish stitching on the front.

Inspired by the concept of "modern classic," Coritiba’s new jersey is all white, with two horizontal green stripes and a shield in the center. The jersey features a traditional fine polo collar in green. The shorts are black with a green stripe along the side.

The new Internacional jersey is red with a white V-neck collar inspired by kits of the 1960s. The shirt also features white cuffs that can be turned over to reveal the words Campeão deTudo ("Champion of Everything"). Printed on the inside of the back of the neck are the club shield and flag of the team’s home state of Rio Grande do Sul -- a tribute to the fans’ devotion.

The jersey for Neymar’s Santos team harkens back to the team’s glory days and celebrates its centennial anniversary. Inside the collar, it reads Menino da Vila desde 1912 (“The Vila Belmiro crew since 1912”), a tribute to the club’s long string of superstar players. The font and numbers on the white jersey were inspired by the stamp styles that are found on containers in the port of Santos City. On top of the crest, a crown separaes the dates "1912 – 2012." The shorts are also white and have stylish stitching detail on the sides.

Space Exploration Inspires New Nike Sportswear Collection

Ahead of basketball’s big weekend in Orlando, Nike Sportswear is introducing a collection of styles inspired by central Florida’s association with space exploration. The collection features a galactic theme on the Nike Dunk, Nike Flight One and Nike Foamposite One. Interior graphics pay homage to the phenomenon of the Supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while fonts and badging are featured within the collection as a nod to Orlando and space.

With a motif inspired by astronaut space suits, the Nike Dunk features a waxed canvas upper emulating training suit material. Military stencil font is prominently featured on the upper and outsole, while the inner lining features the supernova graphic print. Available in three different colors including rogue green, flat gold and blue grey, the Nike Dunk also features a removable tongue top patch and Nike Swoosh.

With the weekend’s festivities returning to Orlando for the first time since 1992, Nike celebrates the legacy of arguably the most popular player in the history of pro basketball in Orlando. Nike Basketball Introduces All-Star Game Kicks

Nike Basketball is proud to unveil key colorways celebrating its pinnacle players competing in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando later this month. Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual ‘mission patches’ adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive.

LeBron 9 is the first Nike shoe to combine Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction in the upper, a significant technical advancement in footwear. LeBron James, whose home state of Ohio features more astronauts than any other state, will wear a special version of the LeBron 9 that takes inspiration from the orange space suit. Orange, the most visible color to the human eye, helps identify astronauts. Functional graphics “Pull For Lockdown” are featured on the midfoot harness, while the materials are inspired by space suit textures. Nike Zoom Kobe VII System includes the Attack Fast insert that features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. Its sock-like fit eliminates the need for a traditional tongue and innersleeve, keeping the shoe lightweight. The upper’s color features telescopic inspired imagery. Supernova is the primary graphic motif on the upper and ironically gives birth to stars. The mission patch on the heel is a mamba snake as a nod to Kobe.
